VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton women's basketball team defeated Bloomsburg 70-55 in an exhibition game on Friday evening at the Events Center. In addition to being their final tune up before the regular season, the game also marked the first time the Bearcats played in front of their home fans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Binghamton placed four players in double figures. The balanced Bearcat attack was led by freshman guard
Ella Wanzer, who finished with 13 points. Senior guard
Hayley Moore and junior guard
Denai Bowman each finished with 10 points while freshman forward
Genevieve Coleman chipped in 10 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Clare Traeger, meanwhile, turned in an eight-point, eight rebound effort.
Emma Saxton led Bloomsburg with 11 points while Meghan Corridoni netted 10 points.
Binghamton shot 41.3 percent for the game (26-for-63) and finished with a 41-31 advantage in rebounding. Sixteen of the Bearcats' rebounds came at the offensive end of the court.
The regular season begins on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at home against Siena. The game will be followed by the Bearcat men's regular-season opener against Cornell.
