Bearcats (3-1) will honor eight seniors before 1 p.m. kickoff at Complex

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer (3-1, 2-1 America East) will host NJIT (2-4-1, 0-3-1 AE) on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Bearcats and Highlanders will kick off at 1 p.m. in a game broadcast on ESPN3.

Before the game, BU will honor its eight seniors: Essie Bonney, Sarah Dibble, Mackenzie Hanna, Dora Hayes, Genna Michitti, Ivana Pjetri, Erin Theiller and Chloe Tracy. The group has combined to play in 366 games over their collective four-year careers.

The Bearcats have won two straight and are coming off Thursday's 2-0 win at Vermont in a game officially logged as non-conference since it was added to the schedule. In that game, BU struck for two goals in a 36-second span midway through the first half - a new school record. Goals by Pjetri and junior forward Stefania Piantadosi were more than enough as BU held an 11-4 shots cushion and as the frigid weather took hold in the second half, neither team mounted much of an attack.

Piantadosi now has three goals on the season and leads the America East in goals per game (0.75).

NJIT has gone winless in its last five (0-4-1) after opening the season with wins over Drexel (3-1) and Wagner (1-0). In conference play, the Highlanders have lost to Stony Brook (5-0), Vermont (2-1) and in their last outing, dropped a 1-0 overtime result to UMBC. NJIT opened its first America East season with a 1-1 tie at Maine.

The Highlanders were picked to finish seventh in the Coaches' Preseason Poll - just one spot behind the Bearcats.

Binghamton leads the all-time series 2-0, but the teams haven't played since 2008. The Bearcats posted wins in 2007 (3-1 at home) and 2008 (2-0 at NJIT).
