Senior Day game set for noon at Bearcats Sports Complex; Team will honor five players pregame

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer (2-4-1) will honor its senior class on Sunday before it battles visiting St. Francis Brooklyn (1-2-3) at noon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Pregame, BU will celebrate its senior class of five. Goalkeeper Haylee Poltorak, defenders Nicole Scudero, Kayla MacKenzie and Gabby Piontkowski and forward Stefania Piantadosi will be recognized before kickoff.

The Bearcats will then aim to snap a four-game winless skid and reverse a tough sequence of three-straight one-goal defeats. On Thursday up in Hamilton, BU surrendered three goals on set pieces, including a pair of penalty kicks after tripping calls in the box. Junior midfielder Olivia McKnight scored her second goal of the season in the game's fourth minute and Binghamton added another quick goal just 22 seconds into the second half (own goal) but Colgate countered with two in a four-minute first-half span and the game-winner via the penalty spot just four minutes after BU had tied it at 2-2.

Colgate held a 12-6 shots advantage. Poltorak made four saves.

Junior forward Maya Anand still leads BU with three goals and six points, followed by Olivia McKnight (2-1=5) and Piantadosi (0-3=3). Poltorak carries a 1.11 goals against average and a save percentage of .830.

St. Francis Brooklyn (1-2-3) is coming off a 2-2 tie at Fordham on Thursday. Before that, the Terriers tied Canisius (1-1) and fellow America East member UNH (0-0). St. Francis went 2-5-1 in the abbreviated spring season and was picked to finish 10th (of 11) in the Northeast Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll. Senior midfielder Barbara Zagonyi leads the team with two goals.

Binghamton leads the all-time series 1-0 after a 2-0 road win in 2019.
