Women’s Basketball Heads to Stony Brook

Bearcats and Seawolves Tip Off Wednesday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (4-7, 0-1 AE) lost 66-64 to first-place NJIT a week ago Saturday in its first game since Dec. 21. Senior guard Hayley Moore led four Bearcats players in double figures with 13 points. She was followed by freshman forward Genevieve Coleman (12), junior forward Birna Benonysdottir (11) and junior guard Denai Bowman (10).
 
- Benonysdottir leads the America East with 16.5 points per game while junior forward Denai Bowman is third (13.9 ppg.). Bowman also ranks second in assists (4.1 apg.) and is tied with junior forward Clare Traeger for fourth in steals (1.8 spg.). Traeger also first in rebounding (8.5 rpg.).

- As a team, Binghamton is second in the conference in scoring (64.6 ppg.) and assists (13.91 apg.). In addition, the Bearcats lead the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense (.207).
 
- Stony Brook (13-2, 4-1 AE) has won its past four games, including a 71-53 triumph at New Hampshire on Sunday. The Seawolves are the defending America East champions and are ranked No. 10 in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.
 
- Anastasia Warren leads Stony Brook and ranks fifth in the conference with 12.8 points per game. The Seawolves as a team lead the America East in scoring (69.1 ppg.) and rebounding (40.8 rpg.).
 
- Stony Brook leads the all-time series against Binghamton 28-23, having swept the past seven meetings. Last year, it won both games at home - 61-52 on Dec. 19 and 55-47 the following day. The Bearcats' last win in the series was a 69-64 road triumph on Feb. 5, 2018.
