BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Binghamton wrestling won six of 10 bouts, four with bonus points en route to a 28-13 win over LIU Saturday afternoon. Brevin Cassella, Cory Day and Joe Doyle all had pins, and Anthony Sobotker added a major decision to round out the BU bonus point winners. Lou DePrez and Jacob Nolan also added wins.

Highlights

• The match started with a loss at 157 pounds, but Brevin Cassella put BU ahead with a pin. The 165-pounder earned a takedown in the first, and added four-near fall points before getting his opponent on his back in the final seconds. The pin is Cassella's third of the year.

• Jacob Nolan followed Cassella's performance with a nice win over a surging 174-pounder in Ryan Ferro. Leading 3-2 in the third, Nolan earned a takedown and four near-fall points to get the 9-2 decision.

• At 184 pounds, Cory Day nearly had a takedown in the first, but ended up giving one up. Trailing 2-1 on the second, he got on top and earned four back points before getting the pin to improve to 9-3 on the year.

• DePrez controlled the pace in a win over former teammate Nunzio Crowley. The No. 13 nationally ranked 197-pounder had the bout's only takedown to capture the 3-2 decision.

• Heavyweight Joe Doyle made quick work of Tim Nagosky, grabbing a takedown and back points before getting the pin in the first period. His last three wins have included two pins and a technical fall.

• The Sharks won three of the match's final four bouts, but Sobotker added a late major decision. With a hometown crowd behind him, the senior built a 6-0 lead through two periods, and nearly got a pin in the third before securing the 9-1 major. The victory was his 14th of the season.

• BU won three of four bonus matches, including two wins by Sam DePrez. Dimitri Gamkreilidze added a pin, the first of his career.
