Surging Bearcats have won four in a row and are unbeaten in last six; game set for 1 p.m.

VESTAL, N.Y. - Riding a six-game unbeaten streak and sitting atop the America East standings, Binghamton women's soccer (6-4-2, 3-0 AE) hosts New Hampshire (4-5-1, 1-1-1 AE) at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

The game against the reigning America East tournament runnerup Wildcats begins a span of five games in 19 days to close out the regular season - three of which will be on the road. Binghamton's unbeaten streak is its longest in 20 seasons and the team is riding high after a resounding 6-1 win at defending champion Vermont on Sunday. In that game, BU broke records for fastest three goals (5:13), four (12:41), five (20:31) and six (21:08), netting six in a half for the first time in its Division I history.

Senior forward Maya Anand racked up three goals and an assist in Burlington and took sole possession of first place in conference goals (9) and points (21). Anand is tied for 14th in the country in goals per game (0.75) and tied for 16th in points per game (1.75). Sophomore forward Peyton Gilmore added two goals at Vermont to bump her season total to six.

New Hampshire hasn't played in 10 days, since tying Maine 1-1 at home on Sept. 29. The Wildcats began conference play with a 2-1 home loss to Albany and then beat NJIT 2-1 on the road. Sophomore midfielder Meghan Guarente leads the team with five goals and 13 points. She is the lone UNH player with more than one goal as the scoring has been spread among eight different players. Senior keeper Cat Sheppard has a 1.22 goals against average and a save percentage of 81%.

The Wildcats were picked to finish third in the Coaches' Preseason Poll (Binghamton was fourth) and return 17 letterwinners from last year's team that prevailed in two penalty kick shootouts to reach the America East title game, where they lost to Vermont 1-0. Junior midfielder Anna Hewlett is a returning all-conference selection and Sheppard is a veteran keeper (fifth year) who has a career GAA of 0.98.

New Hampshire holds a 12-9-5 lead in the head-to-head series, though the teams have split the last four games. UNH went unbeaten against Binghamton (5-0-2) between 2013-18 before the Bearcats posted a 2-0 win in Durham in 2019. In the last meeting in Vestal, BU earned a 1-0 win on March 28, 2021 during the spring COVID-delayed season. Last fall, UNH prevailed 1-0 at home.
