VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton wrestling travels to the Upper Midwest to take on two strong programs in their respective conferences. The Bearcats will wrestle North Dakota State in Fargo on Friday night. The Bison are surging with confidence after a major upset victory against No. 8 Nebraska, 20-16, in Lincoln to begin their season. North Dakota State defeated the Bearcats 27-12 last season. On Sunday, the Bearcats will return to Minneapolis for the first time since 2017 to battle No. 13 Minnesota. The Golden Gophers started their season strong by claiming eight titles at the Bison Open in Fargo last weekend. Minnesota will be wrestling in their first dual of the 2022-23 season.
"I'm looking forward to competing out west," said head coach Kyle Borshoff. "We're going to get a couple of quality matches against opponents we likely wont see the rest of the year. It's always fun to wrestle new teams and challenge ourselves against nationally ranked opponents."
