STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (7-7, 0-1 AE) lost 73-69 on Thursday night at UMBC. Senior guard Denai Bowman tied for the game high with 19 points and in the process, scored the 1,000th point of her career. Redshirt freshman guard Ella Wanzer finished with 14 points, sophomore forward Genevieve Coleman added 12 points and nine rebounds while redshirt freshman guard Jadyn Weltz chipped in 11 points. 
 
- Bowman leads the Bearcats and ranks fifth in the America East with 12.9 points per game. She is also first in steals (2.3 spg.) and is tied for third in blocks (1.2 bpg.) Senior forward Clare Traeger leads the America East with 8.7 rebounds per game and Weltz is fourth with 3.5 assists per game.
 
- Binghamton ranks among the top three teams in the America East in all five major statistical categories. The Bearcats are first in both rebounding (38.1 rpg.) and steals (8.50 spg.) and third in scoring (60.5 ppg.), assists (13.14 apg.) and blocks (3.29 bpg.).
 
- Bryant, which is in its first season as a member of the America East, lost 74-62 to visiting Maine on Thursday night. Mariona Plains Fortuny, who leads the America East with 16.5 points per game, netted a game-high 20 points against the Black Bears. The Bulldogs as a team lead the conference in scoring (68.1 ppg.) and are second in steals (8.43 spg.). 
 
- Binghamton has won all three previous meetings against Bryant - when the Bulldogs still competed in the Northeast Conference. Most recently, the Bearcats took a 55-47 road decision back on Dec. 7, 2017. In the only previous meeting at the Events Center, Binghamton won 68-61 on Nov. 23, 2008.
 
- This year's home game against Bryant marks the first time ever that Binghamton will have played a game on New Year's Day.
