Women's Basketball Hosts First-Place Stony Brook

Bearcats and Seawolves Square off Wednesday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (5-11, 1-5 AE) lost 52-41 to Albany on Monday night at the Events Center. Junior guard Denai Bowman poured in a game-high 18 points while junior forward Birna Benonysdottir finished with 10 points.
 
- Benonysdottir ranks second in the America East with 16.2 points per game while Bowman is third (14.1 ppg.). Bowman also ranks second in assists (4.0 apg.) and is tied for second in steals (1.9 spg.). Junior forward Clare Traeger, meanwhile, leads the conference in rebounding (8.4 rpg.).
 
- As a team, Binghamton is third in the conference in scoring (60.5 ppg.) and fourth in steals (7.56 spg). The Bearcats are also first in the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense (2.11)
 
- Stony Brook (17-2, 8-1 AE) is the defending America East champion and has won its last eight games. Most recently, the Seawolves beat New Hampshire 73-60 this past Saturday. Earlette Scott led a balanced attack with 15 points.
 
- Anastasia Warren leads Stony Brook and ranks fourth in the America East with 12.7 points per game. As a team, the Seawolves lead the conference in scoring offense (68.8 ppg.) and rebounding (40.3 rpg.). 
 
- Stony Brook leads the all-time series 29-23, having won the past eight meetings. In the first game this year, the Seawolves won 69-44 at home on Jan. 19. Benonysdottir led the Bearcats with 18 points while Bowman finished with eight points, six rebounds and six assists. The last five games in the series have all been played at Stony Brook.
