Highlights
-
Binghamton dropped the dual's opening five bouts, despite close losses for Nick Curley, Anthony Sobotker and Michael Zarif.
-
Cassella got BU on the board, grabbing a 7-2 decision over Jake Brindley. The 165-pounder dominated the bout, taking a 7-0 lead before giving up a late takedown. He improved to 16-11 on the year.
-
Nolan followed suit with a 6-3 decision over Andrew Berryesa. The junior 174-pounder had a takedown in the first, before giving up a reversal in the second. Tied at three in the third, Nolan would grab one more takedown and get a ride time point to secure the 6-3 result.
-
Cory Day and Sam DePrez lost major decisions to ranked opponents at 184 and 197 pounds, before Doyle ended the dual in style with a pin on Brendan Furman. Despite relinquishing an opening takedown, Doyle responded with an escape and takedown of his own. Starting down in the second, Doyle got a reversal and turned Furman with an acrobatic move. A few moments later, he walked away with his fifth pin of the year.
