LEXINGTON, Va - Sophomore first baseman
Andrew Tan belted a three-run double with two outs in the ninth inning to lift visiting Binghamton baseball (3-6) to an 8-7 win over VMI in the final game of the weekend series Sunday afternoon at Gray-Minor Stadium.
Tan's hit capped a four-run BU rally in the top of the ninth. Sophomore reliever
Justin Rosner (W, 1-0) pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to secure the win. Rosner went 1.1 innings and didn't allow a hit.Ā

Evin Sullivan was hit by pitch to load the bases. After a BU strikeout brought the Bearcats to within one out of a loss, Tan delivered his game-winning double to score Perez, Tully and Sullivan.Ā Ā Ā Ā
Tan wound up 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI. Sullivan (hitting .400 for season) went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Tully collected two doubles and an RBI.Ā
The Bearcats scored two runs in the first, one in the fourth and eighth innings and then the deciding four in the ninth. VMI scored runs in five of the first eight innings to build their 7-4 lead. The Keydets outhit BU 11-9 but left nine stranded.Ā
Binghamton next plays a three-game series at SEC member Alabama next weekend.Ā
