BU riding four-game unbeaten streak; kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Bearcats Sports Complex

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer looks to extend its unbeaten streak when the Bearcats (4-4-2, 1-0 America East) host NJIT (2-4-5, 0-1-1 AE) Thursday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

The Bearcats finished up non-conference play with a 5-2 road win at Delaware State on Saturday. BU scored four second-half goals to finally pull away from the Hornets. Maya Anand was named America East Offensive Player of the Week and BU Miller Auto Team Student-Athlete of the Week after scoring twice. She has a share of the AE lead with six goals and 13 points. Hannah Knych scored a goal for the second straight game and Victoria McKnight and Peyton Gilmore each scored her third goal of the season.

Binghamton is 3-0-1 in its last four games and has outscored opponents 11-4 during that span.

The Highlanders are coming off a tough 2-1 home loss to UNH on Sunday, giving up the game winner in the 87th minute. NJIT began conference play with a scoreless tie at Maine. The team has scored 11 goals in 11 games and has received tallies from 10 different players. All-conference keeper Molly Saylor has a 1.09 goals against average and five shutouts.

NJIT was picked to finish tied for fifth (one spot behind BU) after returning 21 letterwinners and two all-conference selections (Saylor and defender Siani Magruder) from a team that went 4-4-1 in league play and earned the No. 3 seed in its first-ever America East tournament last fall.

BU has won all four previous matchups with NJIT, including a 2-1 double overtime victory last October in Newark.
