VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton women's basketball team defeated Roberts Wesleyan 74-49 in an women's basketball exhibition game on Friday evening at Dr. Bai Lee Court at the Events Center. The contest marked the Bearcats' first and only preseason game.
Redshirt sophomore guard
Ella Wanzer led a balanced attack with 13 points while junior forward
Genevieve Coleman added 12 points and six rebounds. Wanzer was also 3-for-6 from beyond the three-point line while Coleman was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Binghamton's third player to reach double figures in scoring was freshman guard
Bella Pucci. She finished with 10 points, added six rebounds and made both of her three-point field goal shots.
Redshirt sophomore
Jadyn Weltz once again filled up the stat sheet with seven points, a game-high seven rebounds, a game-high eight assists and a game-high five steals. She made three of her five field goal attempts and well as her only three-point shot.
Graduate student forward
Denai Bowman, meanwhile, finished with nine points and dished out a pair of assists. She took only five shots – but made four of them.
As a team, Binghamton shot 50 percent from both the field (22-of-44) and three-point range (9-of-18). The Bearcats also shot 81 percent from the free throw line.
Binghamton tips off its regular season against Bloomsburg on Monday at 6:07 p.m. at Dr. Bai Lee Court at the Events Center.
