Bearcats and Huskies square off Monday at 6:07 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton opens up its 23rd season of competing at the NCAA Division I level – as well as its second straight season with Bloomsburg as the first opponent.

- The Bearcats return four starters from last season – including graduate student guard Denai Bowman, who was named to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team. The other starters back are redshirt sophomore guards Ella Wanzer and Jadyn Weltz as well as junior forward Genevieve Coleman

- The Bearcats are coming off a 13-17 (6-10 AE) season in 2022-23. They were picked to finish fourth in the America East Conference in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.

- Bloomsburg, which competes at the Division II level, finished 9-17 last year. Since they are not a Division I opponent, the game against Binghamton will count as an exhibition contest for them.

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against Bloomsburg 3-2 – including 2-0 since it moved up to the NCAA Division I level. In last year's opening game, Binghamton defeated Bloomsburg 63-46. Current sophomore forward Camryn Fauria netted 12 points while Weltz posted 10 points. It was the first collegiate game for both of them.

- Bowman enters the 2023-24 season ranked No. 11 all time with 1,214 career points. In 10th place all time is Karen McClelland (1996-00) with 1,227 career points. Bowman also ranks seventh all-time with 286 career assists – four behind sixth-place Kim Shaw (1997-01) who finished her career with 290 assists.
