Men's basketball trio earns conference honors

| By:

Falko Second Team All-Conference, Harried on All-Defensive Team and Petcash All-Academic

VESTAL, N.Y. - After a regular season that ended with the program's highest conference finish in 13 years, Binghamton men's basketball had three players recognized with America East awards. Senior guard Jacob Falko was named Second Team All-Conference, junior forward Armon Harried was selected to the All-Defensive team and senior guard Dan Petcash earned a spot on the All-Academic Team.

Falko's honor gives him back-to-back all-conference laurels in his two seasons at Binghamton. He becomes just the sixth Bearcat to become a two-time all-conference selection, joining Mike Gordon (3x), Nick Billings (2x), Andre Heard (2x), Jordan Reed (2x) and Sam Sessoms (2x). Falko is averaging a team-best 13.7 points and ranks seventh in the conference in both scoring and assists (3.7) - one of just two players to sit in the top-8 of both categories. His regular season featured a 36-point showing against Niagara in December, a deciding free throw with 1.6 seconds left to beat UMass Lowell and 15 games with 15 or more points.

Harried's selection to the All-Defensive Team gives the Bearcats an entry in two straight seasons after teammate Christian Hinckson made the team a year ago. Harried leads BU in rebounds (6.4) and blocks (0.8) and is second in scoring (12.3). He ranks sixth in the conference in blocks in conference play and is ninth in rebounding. On the offensive end, he has produced seven games of 15 or more points, including three over 20.

Petcash has a 3.56 GPA in psychology and is BU's first all-academic selection since J.C. Show went back-to-back in 2017-18 and 2018-19. On the court, he will become the program's all-time 3-point shooting percentage leader, currently at 41 percent in his four-year career. This season, Petcash is averaging 12.6 points on 51 percent shooting in conference play. He has hit 35-of-75 from beyond the arc for a league-leading 47 percent.

The Bearcats tied for fourth in the final standings and will carry the No. 5 seed into Saturday afternoon's quarterfinals at No. 4 UMBC.
