DURHAM, N.H. - Binghamton women's lacrosse defeated New Hampshire, 12-7, to extend their longest win streak in team history to five games. Junior midfielder Kristen Scheidel powered the Bearcats with the second hat trick of her career and the season. Scheidel also caused five turnovers and picked up four ground balls. Isabella Meli tallied two goals and two assists and Olivia Muscolino also added two goals. 

Binghamton led 2-1 at the end of the first period. Abigail Carroll and Scheidel each scored in the opening period. UNH tied the game with 11:27 left in the second period, but the Bearcats responded with two goals in just over two minutes. Meli gave Binghamton a 3-2 lead with her 16th goal of the season with 10:51 left in the period. Marisa Tancredi scored her 18th goal of the season with 8:44 left. After UNH responded with a goal with 6:24 left, the Bearcats received three unanswered goals over the next four minutes. Muscolino put the Bearcats ahead 5-3 and Scheidel converted two free position attempts to put Binghamton up 7-3. UNH scored with less than a minute left in the first half, but Binghamton had a 7-4 lead at the break.

Binghamton outscored UNH, 3-2, in the third period with goals from Muscolino, an own goal from UNH, and Hayley Weltner. Binghamton led 10-6 going into the fourth period. The Bearcats scored just two goals in the fourth courtesy of Kenna Newman and Meli, but the defense held UNH to just one goal in the final period.

Binghamton will host Vermont on April 1, 2023 at 12 p.m.
