VESTAL, N.Y. --- The Binghamton University Athletics Department held their Senior Send Off Reception on Monday, May 1 in the TAU Bearcat Clubroom. Seniors received their student-athlete graduation stoles at this event.
It was a casual opportunity for members of the department to say thank you to the seniors. University President Harvey Stenger and Director of Athletics Eugene Marshall Jr. shared a few words with the graduating student-athletes. The highlight of the program was the opportunity for each student-athlete to share their future plans.
"The senior sendoff was a great opportunity for us seniors to be recognized, as well as to hear what plans everyone has following graduation." said Carolyn Burnell, women's cross country and track senior. "I feel so grateful to be a part of a program where athletes are recognized not just for their athletic achievements, but for our success in our academics as well!"
"This is a highlight event where we get to celebrate our graduating student-athletes." Said Leigh Ann Savidge-Morris, Deputy Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator. "We often recognize their academic and athletic careers throughout the year, but an event like tonight provides an opportunity to listen about the next adventures our student-athletes are going to embark on."
