VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer looks to extend its win streak when the Bearcats (5-5-2, 2-2 America East) host NJIT (3-9-1, 0-4 AE) Thursday night. The teams kick off at 6:07 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
The Bearcats have won two straight - both with second-half rallies - to begin a climb in the America East standings. On Thursday, Binghamton pushed past Bryant 2-1. Senior forward
Hannah Mimas scored the game-winner and leads the team with six goals, five assists and 17 points. She shares the America East lead in assists and is tied for second in points.
Beginning Thursday, the Bearcats have four games remaining — all against teams below them in the standings.
NJIT has dropped eight straight after opening the season with a 3-1-1 mark. In conference play, the Highlanders have lost to Bryant (4-3), Vermont (2-1), UNH (2-0) and most recently, UAlbany (3-1) on Sunday. NJIT has been outscored 12-4 in the first half this season, but has rebounded for a 9-6 margin in the second half. Eight different players have scored goals, led by junior forward Briana Andreoli, who has three. Â
Binghamton leads the all-time series 6-0, including a 2-0 road win last October.  Â
