Women’s Basketball Heads to Cornell

Bearcats and Big Red tip off Thursday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (2-1) lost 82-61 at St. Bonaventure on Saturday. Sophomore guards Leah Middleton and Bella Pucci both reached their career highs with 17 and 15 points respectively. Sophomore forward Kendall Bennett, meanwhile, grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.

- Redshirt junior guard Jadyn Weltz leads the Bearcats with 14.5 points per game while Middleton is averaging 10.3 points. Bennett and Pucci each lead Binghamton with 6.0 rebounds per contest. Pucci is also averaging a team-best 3.0 steals per game.

- Cornell (1-2) lost 62-56 at Marist on Sunday. Emily Pape turned in a 21-point, 12-rebound, three-assist, two-steal, one-block performance. Clarke Jackson added 12 points while Summer Parker-Hall chipped in 10 points. 

- Pape leads the Big Red with 17.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game while Jackson is averaging 12.7 points per contest. Jackson is also dishing out a team-high 3.3 assists per game. 

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against Cornell 12-10. Most recently, however, the Big Red won 58-57 at the Events Center on Nov. 29, 2023. Weltz finished with 10 points for the Bearcats in that game. At Newman Arena, the Bearcats' last win was a 59-56 decision back on Dec. 5, 2019.
