Women’s Basketball Travels to UAlbany

Bearcats and Great Danes square off Thursday at 11a.m.

STORY LINES
-Binghamton (9-13, 4-5 AE) defeated Vermont 66-57 on Saturday afternoon. Graduate student guard Denai Bowman scored 18 points while sophomore guard Camryn Fauria added 16 points. Redshirt sophomore guards Jadyn Weltz and Ella Wanzer also reached double figures in scoring - with 12 and 10 points respectively.
- Bowman leads the Bearcats and is No. 10 in the America East with 11.5 points per game. Wanzer ranks second in the conference with 2.6 three-point field goals per game and a .399 three-point field goal percentage. She is also No. 37 in the nation in three-point field goals per game. Weltz, meanwhile, is first with 4.5 assists per game and tied for first with a 1.5 assists-to-turnover ratio.
- As a team, Binghamton ranks third in the America East with 63.1 points per game and is tied for third with 13.86 assists per game. The Bearcats are also second with 6.9 three-point field goals per contest and third with a 1.02 assists-to-turnover ratio.
- UAlbany (19-3, 8-1 AE) defeated UMBC 69-55 on Saturday. Kayla Cooper led the Great Danes with 18 points and 14 rebounds while Meghan Huerter added 15 points. Lilly Phillips finished with 12 points and four rebounds.
- Cooper leads UAlbany and is ranked fourth in the America East with 16.1 points per game. Deja Evans, who has been named the America East Rookie of the Week four times, is tied for third in rebounds (7.2 rpg) and is ranked second in blocks (1.5 bpg). As a team, the Great Danes are first in points per game (66.1 ppg.) as well as in points allowed per game (51.5 ppg.). Their scoring defense is also ranked second in the nation.
- UAlbany leads the all-time series 49-27, having won the past five meetings. Earlier this season, the Great Danes won 60-58 at the Events Center on Jan. 13. Binghamton's last victory over UAlbany was a 64-52 home decision on Feb. 7, 2021. The Bearcats have not won in Albany since edging the Great Danes 41-40 on Feb. 20, 2011.
