STORY LINES
- Binghamton (8-6, 0-1 AE) lost 58-49 at NJIT on Thursday evening. Sophomore guard Yanniah Boyd paced the Bearcats with 15 points while sophomore forward Kendall Bennett recorded a career-high 12 points. Boyd also added four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block to her performance. Sophomore guard Bella Pucci contributed eight points and led the team with eight rebounds.
- Boyd leads the Bearcats in scoring and is No. 11 in the conference with 10.6 points per game. Redshirt junior guard Jadyn Weltz ranks second in steals (2.1 spg.) and is fifth in assists (3.1 apg.). Pucci ranks eighth in rebounding with an average of 5.6 per contest.
- As a team, Binghamton ranks second in the America East in both steals (9.2 spg.) and rebounding (35.9 rpg.). The Bearcats also rank third in scoring with 62.4 points per game.
- UMBC (7-5, 0-0 AE) won its last game 101-49 against Bryn Athyn on Sunday. For the second time in program history, six players scored in double figures, led by Kenya Ramsey with a career-high 20 points. She also added six rebounds, two assists and two steals in just 12 minutes off the bench.
- Jordon Lewis is the Retrievers top scorer and ranks seventh in the America East with 11.8 points per game. Jaliena Sanchez ranks sixth in steals (1.6 spg.) while Carmen Yanez is sixth in assists (3.0 apg.). Jaden Walker is the top rebounder for UMBC, sitting sixth in the conference with an average of 6.4 rebounds per game.
- As a team, UMBC ranks third in the conference in rebounds (35.4 rpg.). The Retrievers also place fourth in scoring, averaging 62.4 points per game.
- Binghamton leads the all-time series against UMBC 30-15. The two teams split the season series last year. The Retrievers won 70-55 at the Events Center on Jan. 4 but the Bearcats got even with a 52-44 win in Baltimore on Feb. 15.
