Women’s Basketball Launches Season Against SUNY Geneseo

Bearcats and Knights Tip Off Monday at 5 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton begins its second season under head coach Mary Grimes. The Bearcats return all five players that started in the America East quarterfinals against Bryant last season. Binghamton finished the season 15-15 (7-9 AE). 

- Junior guard Bella Pucci earned third-team all-conference honors last season after averaging 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. Fellow junior guard Yanniah Boyd finished the 2024-25 campaign with 9.4 points per game. Junior guard Leah Middleton had 8.4 points per game followed by senior guard Kaia Goode with 7.4 points per contest.

- SUNY Geneseo opens the 2025-26 season ranked No. 22 in the D3hoops Preseason Poll. The Knights finished last year ranked No. 24 in the final year-end poll. Kristin Suydam is SUNY Geneseo's top returning player with 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

- Binghamton and SUNY Geneseo first met on Dec. 1, 1982, when both teams competed at the NCAA Division III level. The Knights lead the all-time series 12-9 but in the only meeting since Binghamton has competed at the NCAA Division I level, the Bearcats won 75-42 on Dec. 30, 2025.
