Wrestling to Wrap Up Regular Season at No. 23 Army West Point

Bearcats enter season finale having won five of their last six duals

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton wrestling teams wraps up its regular season on Sunday with a dual at No. 23 Army West Point. The contest starts at 2 p.m., at Christl Arena.
 
The Bearcats enter Sunday's regular season finale having won five of their last six duals. Their latest victory came on Sunday, Feb. 16 when they defeated Buffalo on the road 29-10. Cory Day recorded his career-high 13th pin to close out the dual against Robbie Unruh, moving him up to third for the most falls among Division I wrestlers in the country. Carson Wagner also reached 20 wins in a season for the first time in his collegiate career after he defeated Max Elton 7-2.
 
Binghamton enters this upcoming match having won at least 10 duals in a season for the first time since 2018-19. If the Bearcats defeat the Black Knights, they will have won their 11th dual of the season, reaching that mark for the first time since 2017-18. That season, Binghamton went 12-5.

Army West Point Notes
  • The Black Knights are the seventh team ranked in the NWCA Division I Men's Coaches Poll that the Bearcats are facing in a dual this season. Army West Point enters this weekend's contest ranked No. 23 after getting a 22-10 win over Navy on Feb. 16.
  • Ethan Berginc, Gunner Filipowicz and Lucas Stoddard each qualified for the NCAA Wrestling Championships in 2024. All three wrestlers enter Sunday's dual ranked in both the FloWrestling and InterMat rankings.
  • In addition to its seven dual victories this season, Army West Point also won the Southern Scuffle back in January with 132.5 points. Filipowicz won the 165 lb. championship, while Stoddard finished second at 285 lbs.
