Wrestling to wrap up home schedule against Brown, Harvard

Bearcats to honor Class of 2026 as part of Senior Day

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton wrestling team (5-2, 3-1 EIWA) is set to wrap up its home schedule for the 2025-26 season Saturday by hosting Brown (3-3, 0-0 Ivy) and Harvard (2-3, 0-0 Ivy) at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., respectively in the Events Center.
 
The Bearcats most recently split a pair of duals in Vestal the prior weekend, defeating Franklin & Marshall 23-14 on Jan. 18 while falling to Drexel 24-12.
 
Carter Baer picked up his fifth win against a ranked opponent this season when he defeated No. 16 Jasiah Queen of Drexel 2-0 in the 174 lb., bout. The Bearcat followed that by shutting out Franklin & Marshall's Brandon Carr 5-0 two days later. For his performance, Baer was named Wrestler of the Week by the EIWA for the second time this season on Jan. 21. He also moved up in multiple national rankings, as the Gouverneur, N.Y., native is now ranked No. 18 in the College Wrestling Report poll and No. 21 in the InterMat, FloWrestling and WrestleStat rankings.
 
Saturday's duals are also a part of Senior Day. Baer is one of seven Binghamton wrestlers who will be honored in between the two contests. John Baker, Cayden Bevis, Will Ebert, Fin Nadeau, Mikey Squires and Charlie Tibbitts will also be recognized as part of the Class of 2026 for their contributions on and off the mat. Additionally, alums of Binghamton University are invited to attend and celebrate Alumni Day. Admission to both duals is free on behalf of the New York Army National Guard.

  • The Bears have split their six duals this season, defeating Davidson 35-15, LIU 29-17 and Presbyterian 40-10. Brown's three losses have come against No. 6 Nebraska 44-3, Lock Haven 29-12 and Bucknell 24-16.
  • Andrew Reall moved up seven spots in this week's FloWrestling poll to No. 19 at 197 lbs. This comes after the sophomore defeated No. 10 Dillon Bechtold of Bucknell in an 11-2 major decision during the Davidson Duals on Jan. 16. Reall also shut out 2025 national qualifier Tucker Hogan of Lock Haven 2-0 that same day. For his performance, Reall was named the Wrestler of the Week by the Ivy League on Tuesday. This season, Reall also won his bracket at both the Big Red Invitational and the Cougar Clash while finishing in fourth place at the Southern Scuffle.
  • Heavyweight Alex Semenenko has posted eight pins so far this season, which is tied for the third-most among Division I wrestlers. Back in 2024-25, Semenenko recorded 13 falls, ranking in the top five in the country. He went on to finish in fourth place in the inaugural Ivy League Championship that season.

More About Harvard
  • Harvard's only duals this season have come at the NWCA Multi-Division National Duals, which took place from Jan. 9-10. After losing their first two contests to Northern Illinois 22-20 and No. 8 South Dakota State 35-3, the Crimson rebounded by winning two of their final three to finish seventh. Harvard defeated Campbell 28-17, then rebounded from a 26-10 loss to Central Michigan by taking down Cal State Bakersfield 35-7 in the seventh-place match.
  • Jimmy Harrington is building off qualifying for nationals for the first time in his career in 2025 by leading the Crimson with 13 wins this season. In November, the senior won the Journeymen Collegiate Classic, earning Wrestler of the Week honors from the Ivy League for his performance. Harrington also finished second at the Keystone Classic in November and eighth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational in December.
  • Logan Brzozowksi finished in sixth place at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships back in late December.
