Men’s Soccer edged 3-2 at No. 22 Bryant in AE Quarterfinals

Megliola and Guma net goals in Bearcats’ final match of the season

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Binghamton (2-9-6) put up a valiant effort but fell short in a 3-2 defeat against No. 22 Bryant (12-2-4) in an America East quarterfinal match on Saturday evening at Beirne Stadium. With the defeat, the Bearcats' 2026 campaign comes to an end.

Picked to finish last in the America East in the conference's preseason poll, the Bearcats instead made the playoffs and gave the nationally-ranked Bulldogs all they could handle. Bryant, by contrast, was the preseason favorite to win the conference title.

The Bearcat goals were scored by senior forward DT Megliola and freshman forward Jan Guma.

Megliola's goal, which was his second of the season, was set up by senior forward Anthony Randazzo, who dribbled down the right sideline and fired a cross into the box. Megliola then one-timed the ball into the net.

The Bulldogs got the equalizer in the 21st minute. Marcos Blasco scored the goal and the assists were credited to Brady Geho and Nacho Vila. The Bulldogs then got the go-ahead goal by Maneul Morillo in the 36th minute, which was assisted by Pablo Maya.

In between the two Bryant goals, senior goalkeeper Natan Jemaneh Admassu stopped a penalty kick in the 24th minute. He dove to his left to deflect the attempt by Santiago de Prado.

After Bryant took a 3-1 early in the second half, the Bearcats had their own penalty kick attempt. Guma converted it in the 57th minute, pulling Binghamton to within 3-2

Play went back and forth during the final 33 minutes of the match but the Bearcats were unable to get the equalizer.

"We gave it everything we had tonight and I could not be more proud of our guys," head coach Tommy Moon said. "We put forth a massive effort tonight and everyone from the guys on the field to the guys on the bench showed great energy. Bryant is a great team but we went in with the belief that we could win. This season, we became a very resilient team and I couldn't be prouder of everyone."
