BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Binghamton men's tennis (3-4, 1-0 NEC) picked up their first Northeast Conference victory of the season, beating Stonehill (3-5, 0-3 NEC) 5-2 Sunday afternoon at the Lane – Starke Tennis Center.
"It's great to start off NEC play with a win," head coach
Nick Zieziula stated. "This was our first doubles sweep of the season, great to see our third doubles pair make some progress with the way they played today."
The Bearcats swept the doubles competition 3-0 to gain the team the first point of the day.
Ronin Lotlikar earned his 72nd career doubles victory, tying the all-time program record.
In singles play,
Ronin Lotlikar dropped only one game in his match, he won 6-0, 6-1.
Filipe Costa and
Harry Liao won their singles matches in the two and three spot for the squad, while
Giannis Sakkas earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory in the six slot.
The Bearcats return to action on Wednesday when they take on St. Johns.
