VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton women's lacrosse (2-4) fell to Villanova (3-2) on Saturday afternoon. Saturday's matchup was the team's One Love game. The Bearcats were held to a single goal in the second half of a 15-7 loss.

In the first quarter, Binghamton's
Jess Robinson put the Bearcats on the board with a goal at the 10:28 mark to make it a 2-1 game in Villanova's favor. Villanova then went on to score two unanswered goals, making the score 4-1 at the end of the first quarter.
At the beginning of the second period,
Emma Blloshmi got on the board to cut the deficit to two goals. Blloshmi's goal ignited Binghamton's offense, as the Bearcats tallied three consecutive goals, starting with Robinson's second goal of the game. Goals from
Carla Curth and
Sabrina Boyle gave Binghamton their first lead of the game at 5-4 with just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter.
Binghamton's lead didn't last for long, as Villanova tied the game at five just 10 seconds after the Bearcats took their first lead of the day. Moments later, the Wildcats would regain the lead, making it a 6-5 game with just 2:44 left to play.
In the closing seconds of the first half, Curth would go on to find her second goal of the game with just nine seconds remaining on the clock to even out the score at 6-6 entering the halfway mark.
Curth carried the momentum into the second half, putting the Bearcats up by one with a hat trick goal less than two minutes into the third quarter, her fourth point of the afternoon. Curth's goal was assisted by Robinson, securing her fourth point of the game. Binghamton held a 7-6 lead with 13:11 remaining in the third period.
From there, Villanova found its feet again by scoring four unanswered goals, including back-to-back man-up goals. The Wildcats would then hold a 10-7 lead heading into the final period.
Villanova continued their offensive run to close out the game's final quarter. The Wildcats scored five consecutive goals to extend their lead to eight while holding the Bearcats scoreless, securing a 15-7 victory over Binghamton.
Binghamton returns to action Tuesday against Cornell for the team's annual LaCROSSe Out Cancer game. The Bearcats join with the national LaCROSSe Out Cancer organization to raise critically needed funding for pediatric cancer research.
