VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton baseball team (14-13, 6-3 America East) made quick work of Siena (9-19, 5-10 MAAC) on Wednesday, as the Bearcats defeated the Saints 11-1 in seven innings at the Bearcats Baseball Complex.
Binghamton scored all 11 of its runs in the first four innings, allowing the Bearcats to extend their winning streak to four games.
Andrew Heppner led Binghamton with a career-high three runs batted in thanks to a three-run home run he hit in the fourth inning. It was Heppner's second home run in three games.

The Bearcats broke through with their first run in the bottom of the opening inning. With the bases loaded, Popoff flied out to Siena's shortstop Matt Thorsen. Thorsen lost the ball in the sun and was unable to make the catch, allowing Kent to score from third to put the Bearcats ahead 1-0.
Binghamton picked up the pace in the second inning by adding five runs.
Jeremy Ramos first scored after Siena was called for catcher's interference with the bases loaded. In the next at-bat, Kent drew a walk to score
Mike Stellrecht, extending Binghamton's lead to 3-0. Later in the inning, Kraus brought home Tim Henning with a sacrifice fly to center field. To complete the five-run inning, Popoff singled to bring home Kent and
Braylen Gonzalez.
Following a solo home run by Siena's Aidan Paradine in the top of the fourth, Binghamton responded with another five runs in the bottom half of the inning. Kent first doubled down the left field line to score Gonzalez. Kraus later recorded a double of his own to score Kent. After Popoff reached on an error by third baseman Cannon Vandever, Heppner completed Binghamton's run with a home run hit to left field.
Dan McAliney,
Conlan Taylor and
Ian Kaiser each tossed a scoreless inning after that to help Binghamton run-rule Siena in seven innings.
