The Student-Athlete Success Center offers one-on-one tutoring
for student-athletes who are invested in gaining a deep understanding of their course work.
About Us
Our mission is to guide student-athletes to a deeper understanding of content and build skills for life-long learning through one-on-one tutoring and small groups when appropriate.
The tutorial program began in Fall 2010 with 4-5 tutors, who provided group tutoring for a limited number of subjects. In the Spring of 2011, 45 tutors were hired for a variety of subjects, allowing one-on-one tutoring to be offered. Today, an average of 70-100 undergraduate and graduate Binghamton University students serve as tutors, enriching the understanding of student-athletes across many areas of study. Tutors are selected for their academic excellence and receive extensive training to ensure their familiarity with NCAA compliance, university policies, and tutoring department regulations.
