Longtime area high school coach Ed Folli completed his 18th season as an assistant in 2024.
Folli brought three decades of baseball experience to the program, having achieved regional and state acclaim as head coach for nearby Union-Endicott High School. He also has been recognized for coaching and mentoring MLB all-star reliever Jim Johnson during Johnson’s scholastic career.
In 17 seasons as head coach of the Tigers, Folli captured eight sectional, three regional and two state championships while amassing a 275-93 overall record.
The two-time state coach of the year is the winningest baseball coach in school history. He also served as an assistant football coach for a U-E program that won two state titles.
He was inducted into the Section 4 Hall of Fame in March of 2014 and also entered the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.Â
Folli was a standout two-way player (P/OF) for Springfield College (Mass.) before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1973. He was a member of three nationally-ranked teams, earned All-New England honors and was named to the school’s All-Decade Team (1970-79).
