Aziza Chigatayeva begins her second year as a volunteer assistant coach with her alma mater in 2026-27.

Chigatayeva was a five-year standout with the Bearcat track and cross country programs from 2018-23. She earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 3,000 steeplechase (SC) during the 2023 outdoor track season. In addition, Chigatayeva won four straight America East 3,000 SC titles (2019, 2021, 2022 & 2023) and earned first-team all-conference honors in cross country five straight times (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022).

In the classroom, Chigateyeva was named the 2022 America East Women’s Cross Country Scholar Athlete as well as the 2022-23 SUNY Chancellor’s Women’s Cross Country Scholar Athlete. She also earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) in 2023.

Chigatayeva was named the Binghamton University Female Athlete of the Year twice during her career (2019 & 2023).
