No stranger to the Binghamton cross country and distance track program, Josh Stone returned to his alma mater in July 2025 as an assistant coach.
Stone was a four-time America East individual track champion in the men's 5,000. He swept the event at the 2024 and 2025 conference indoor and outdoor meets. Stone was named the Men's Most Outstanding Performer at the 2025 America East Indoor Meet.
In cross country, Stone earned first-team all-conference honors three times during his career. He placed a career-best third overall at the 2023 meet, was fifth in 2024 and seventh in 2022. Stone led the Bearcats to a runner-up finish at the 2022 America East Championships as well as third-place finishes the past two years.
Stone was just as impressive in the classroom. He earned SUNY Chancellor Scholar-Athlete honors during the most recent cross country and indoor track campaigns. Stone was also named to the America East All-Academic Team during the 2024-25 cross country, indoor track and outdoor track seasons.
