Former Penn State and U.S. U20 National Team member Taylor Schram joined the program as an assistant coach in February 2016.

Schram was a captain and four-year starter at Penn State, where she helped lead the Nittany Lions to four straight NCAA berths, highlighted by a national runnerup finish in 2012. She was a two-time All-Big Ten selection and a first team Academic All-American. Schram also earned a spot on the U20 National Team and competed at the 2012 FIFA U20 World Cup in Tokyo, helping the U.S. win a gold medal.

"We are very excited to add Taylor Schram to our staff," head coach Neel Bhattacharjee said. "Taylor has significant experience of playing deep in the NCAA Tournament with Penn State, winning a U-20 World Cup gold medal, coaching within the Region I ODP program, and working at a strong West Virginia program.  To have someone of her stature join our program adds even more excitement during this time for Binghamton soccer.

"Taylor has a passion for the game that is infectious and she gives us a personality on the attacking end which will be crucial as we develop our possession and finishing qualities," Bhattacharjee said. "In addition, her ties throughout the Northeast will be an asset for us on the recruiting side.  I know Taylor is going to be a rising star in the coaching community and we are ecstatic to have her join Binghamton Soccer."

Schram spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at West Virginia, helping steer that program to a pair of Big 12 titles. This past fall, the Mountaineers sported a 19-3-1 record, No. 2 ranking and advanced to the NCAA Elite 8.

A native of Canonsburg, Pa., Schram was a scholastic All-American and Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year. She then tallied 24 goals and 72 points in a stellar four-year career at Penn State. Other individual accolades included being named 2012 Dapper Dan Pittsburgh Sportswoman of the Year.

She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Penn State in 2014 and is finishing her master's degree in athletic coaching education from West Virginia.

Schram holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a USSF "E" License.
