Mike Kline enters his fifth season with the Binghamton swimming & diving program in 2023-24. He arrived from the Washington D.C. area, where he was on the staffs at George Washington and Georgetown the previous two seasons. In addition, Kline has been a head coach at the club level for three years.
Kline was part of the Men's America East Coaching Staff of the Year after the Bearcats won their first team title since 2003.Â
In 2018-19, Kline was a part of the George Washington coaching staff. In February 2019, the Colonials won the men's Atlantic 10 conference title for the third straight year and were the runner up on the women's side. During the 2017-18 academic year, Kline was on the staff at Georgetown University.
At the club level, Kline was the head coach of the USA Swimming MAKO Swim Team from 2014-17. During that stretch, the program set 47 Team Records though three short course seasons and three long course seasons. In addition, it posted 23 individual performances in the top 16 including 10 in the top 8 at the Ohio Age Group Championship.
A 2014 graduate of Miami (Ohio), Kline was a four-year member of the Red Hawks' swimming & diving team. In 2012, he received the program's Joe Justice "Scout" award for being the most honorable teammate.Â
