Cody Reed enters the first season of his second stint as an assistant coach of the Binghamton wrestling team. He previously served as a graduate assistant coach for the Bearcats during the 2015-16 season.

Reed, who is from Walton, N.Y., competed for the Bearcats from 2009-14. In his last three seasons, he qualified for the NCAA Wrestling Championships in 2012, 2013, and 2014. In 2014, he made it to the quarterfinals at 197 lbs. In 2012, Reed also upset No. 4 seed Christian Boley of Maryland in the first round of the tournament.

Throughout his collegiate career, Reed compiled a record of 94-62. 42 of those wins came in duals. In 2013, he won the Coastal Athletic Association championship at 184 lbs. He also reached the final in the 2014 EIWA Championships at 197 lbs.

Reed also enjoyed a decorated wrestling career at Walton High School. He won 141 matches during his career. Additionally, he placed sixth in the 2009 NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships at 171 lbs.
Reed lives in Binghamton with his wife Rachel and daughter Adalyn.
