Liz Flynn, formerly known as Liz Woidt, came to Binghamton in May 2023 after serving as Director of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services for Broome County for five years. In that capacity, she worked with federal, state and local agencies, and community stakeholders to enhance services for Broome County residents. Her management and external relations accomplishments were widespread.
She was promoted to Associate AD in December 2024.
The addition of Flynn was part of Binghamton's strategic emphasis on external relations and building partnerships across the region.
A former NCAA Division I student-athlete, she has direct marketing and development experience at three different colleges: FDU, University of North Carolina Wilmington and Arkansas State. At UNCW, Flynn served as Assistant Director for the Seahawk Club, the school's athletics fundraising arm, and cultivated relationships with donors, alumni and local businesses. She was a valued member of the department's strategic planning committee and played a key role in marketing and development initiatives.
Flynn earned both her her bachelor's and master's degrees in sports administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She graduated Cum Laude in 2013 and then received her master's degree in 2014.
A captain and five-year member of the FDU softball team, Flynn was an All-America Scholar Athlete and Dean's List member. She honed her leadership skills as a member of FDU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and later as an employee at UNCW, she served the university as the athletics representative on the Staff Senate.
Flynn has been active in Broome County leadership, serving as a member of the Broome County Environmental Management Committee, the Family Violence Prevention Council and the Broome Opioid Awareness Council among others.
An avid outdoorswoman, she is a member of the Triple Cities Hiking Club and is a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard with CPR/AED training, in addition to rescue, first aid and waterfront skills.
