Nick Landi joined the communications staff in August 2023.
Landi currently serves as the contact for the Binghamton men's golf, men's lacrosse, men's wrestling and women's volleyball programs. He manages each team's social media accounts by gathering and editing different forms of content, writes press releases, and oversees both the recording and archiving of his programs' statistics. He has provided on-site coverage of the Binghamton baseball, softball and wrestling programs at the NCAA tournament. Additionally, Landi has worked on the broadcast production crew for the NCAA men's lacrosse tournament.
Since joining Binghamton, Landi has received multiple accolades for his work. In 2026, he won two awards for the College Sports Communicators' Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest. Landi's feature story on Binghamton equipment manager Tyler Zweig's journey as a hockey player was named the best General Feature/Blog for District 1. Meanwhile, his preview for the Binghamton volleyball team's 2025 season was selected as the runner-up for best Season Recap/Preview in the district.
That same year, Landi was named a Career Champion through Binghamton University's Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development. The honor is given to faculty and staff who have played a pivotal role in helping students explore career options, build professional networks, apply for graduate school, connect with employers, develop skills, navigate the job and internship search process, and more. In order to be considered for the award, an individual must be nominated a student.
Landi arrived in Binghamton after working at Keene State College (N.H.) in the sports information office during the 2022-23 school year as a sports information assistant. He worked directly with the soccer and lacrosse programs, and also co-produced and directed baseball, basketball and softball broadcasts on the Little East Conference Network.
Before that, Landi worked at Dartmouth College during the 2021-22 school year, generating video content and helping cover a multitude of live broadcasts on ESPN and NESN platforms. Landi's early work was in television, where he was a news producer for three years at WREX in Rockford, Ill. He and the rest of the production crew earned two Regional Emmy awards for reporting and a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence. Additionally, the station earned an award for outstanding news operation from the Illinois Associated Press Broadcasters Association.
A native of Naperville, Ill., Landi earned his bachelor's degree in journalism in 2018 at Illinois State University. During his time there, he gained experience covering numerous Redbirds teams for various student media outlets.
