Tyler Zweig enters his second year at Binghamton University as an assistant equipment manager after previously spending 10 years in professional and semi-professional hockey as an equipment manager.
Zweig was raised in the Chenango Forks area where he and his brother Nate grew up with the love of the game of hockey. Tyler’s father Jim was one of the first-ever captains for the SUNY Broome Community College hockey team. From 2012-2014, Tyler attended SUNY Broome, earning his associate degree in sport management while also playing on the hockey team. During his time at SUNY Broome, Zweig also served as Assistant Equipment Manager for the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.
Zweig later on transferred to SUNY Brockport where he would obtain his bachelor’s degree in sport management. Between 2015-2018, Zweig also worked with the Rochester Americans as Assistant Equipment Manager/Visiting Room Attendant. After graduating, Tyler spent one more year in Rochester and also worked with the Rochester Red Wings of Minor League Baseball as a clubhouse manager.
Zweig moved back to Binghamton in the fall of 2018 and worked as Assistant Equipment Manager/Visiting Room Attendant for the Binghamton Devils. He eventually took on the role as Head Equipment Manager for the Binghamton Black Bears for two seasons.
Tyler and his brother Nate are also part of Team Colombia’s national hockey team that competes in various tournaments, such as the Amerigol LATAM Cup, which showcases the talent of hockey players from different countries around the world.
Tyler resides in Chenango Forks with his wife Sidney and their dog Ovie.
