HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Mike Moore drilled seven three-pointers en route to a game-high 32 points to carry Hofstra (4-7) over visiting Binghamton (0-8) in a men's basketball game Saturday afternoon from the Mack Sports Complex. The Pride extended a 12-point halftime lead with 56 percent accuracy in the second half and kept the Bearcats winless on the season.

Sophomore guard Robert Mansell paced BU with 19 points. Freshman guard Chris Longoria hit for a season-high 15 points and sophomore forward Alex Ogundadegbe chipped in a career-high 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting. All three players added three steals apiece. But the Bearcats dug themselves another double-digit halftime deficit with 37 percent shooting and could never recover in the second period.

"We started playing aggressive defense in the second half but it takes us too long to get revved up sometimes," head coach Mark Macon said. "That has to happen in the beginning of the game though. You have to have the urgency and come out and play fierce basketball. You have to establish how you want to play the game early."

Hofstra led 18-15 with 11:27 remaining in the first half before embarking on a decisive 15-3 run that spanned 6:55. During that stretch, Binghamton misfired on 5-of-6 shots and committed six turnovers. Down 40-28 at the break, BU cut their margin to nine on a Mansell three-pointer just 21 seconds into the second half before a three-minute scoring drought allowed Hofstra to bump its cushion back up to double digits. The Bearcats got no closer than 14 the rest of the way.
