VESTAL, N.Y. -- Senior 149-pound Donnie Vinson and senior 197-pound Nate Schiedel notched wins but it wasn't enough as Binghamton wrestling (0-2) suffered a 30-7 defeat to No. 8 Cornell (1-0) Friday night from the Friedman Wrestling Center.

Vinson, No. 2 in the country in this week's Amateur Wrestling News rankings, posted a 10-2 major decision over Ryan Dunphy to improve to 7-0 this season.

Schiedel, No. 8, scored a 6-3 decision over Billy George. He improved to 6-0.

The Bearcats wrestled without their other nationally-ranked individual as No. 20 Joe Bonaldi (141) was held out of the match.

Binghamton will remain in Ithaca after the match and return to the Cornell campus Saturday morning for the New York State Championship.
