Box Score West Hartford, Conn.-- The BU men's lacrosse team fell on the road to Hartford (4-8, 1-2 AE) 11-7 Saturday evening under the lights at Al-Marzook Field in West Hartford. The Bearcats, who drop to 0-6 on the road this season, received three points from junior midfielder Tyler Perrelle in the losing effort.

Binghamton found themselves in a 5-0 hole to begin the game as Perrelle ended the 20-plus minute scoring drought firing a low shot far post after a shot fake froze Hartford's goalie out of position. Minutes later in the second period, sophomore Kelly Donigan sprinted from behind the cage and slung a lefty bullet over the right shoulder of Hartford's goalkeeper to cut the deficit to 5-2.

Still in the second, freshman J.T. Hauck kept things rolling when his highly contested 15 yard shot found its way into the back of the net. To conclude the first half, Perrelle netted his second goal of the game, bringing the visiting squad to within one entering intermission.

Hartford answered Binghamton's 4-0 run with an identical run of their own to begin the third. A pair of goals from freshman Kevin O'Shea gave Hartford the 9-4 lead, their biggest of the game. Much like the first half, it took the Bearcats a while to get their offense rolling. This time, BU got on the board in the second half after 12 minutes of scoreless play. Senior LSM Ben Waldron caused a turnover and found an open Paul O'Donnell who scored on a 10-yard shot on a man-up opportunity. Two minutes later, Kyle Bakker found the back of the net on yet another man-up opportunity which left the Bearcats trailing 9-6 heading into the fourth.

After a Hartford goal with less than five minutes remaining made it 10-6, sophomore Michael Antinozzi's goal with 2:44 left gave the Bearcats a glimmer of hope trailing by just three. But just like all evening, Hartford had an answer. Just 40 seconds after Antinozzi's 27th goal of the season, Rory Nunamacher beat the Bearcat defense and scored putting the game out of reach at 11-7.

The Bearcats, much like last week's game against Stony Brook, outshot the Hawks by a large margin (45-30) but failed to capitalize on man-up opportunities scoring on just three of ten tries. Both senior Jeff Donigan and sophomore Greg Cove combined to win 10-of-21 face-offs as the Bearcats now fall to 0-3 in AE conference games.

Six BU players recorded a goal, including O'Donnell who finished the game with a goal and an assist. Junior goalie Kraig Heston started in goal for the first time this season and made seven saves in the losing effort.

Binghamton looks to snap a two-game losing skid when they hit the road to play Vermont (1-10, 0-3 AE) next Saturday at 3 p.m.

With junior midfielder Tyler Perrelle's three-point performance, he moves into a tie for second place all-time at BU with 83 career points. Perrelle, the Mahopac, NY native, ties 2009 graduate Chris Mulheron at second place and currently sits 16 points shy of the program leader Matt McNamara.
