VESTAL, N.Y. – Victoria Rampado finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Meghan McGuinness added 15 points, leading Niagara (1-3) to a 63-52 win over Binghamton (1-3) in a non-conference women's basketball game on Wednesday afternoon at the Events Center. The game closed out the Bearcats' two-game home stand.

The Purple Eagles used their height advantage to outrebound the Bearcats 56-34. Twenty of those were offensive rebounds.

Two other Niagara players also reached double figures in scoring. Kaylee Stroemple had 11 points while Taylor McKay added 10 points.

For the Bearcats, freshman guard Jasmine Sina hit five three-point field goals to finish with a team-high 15 points. Senior guard Gintare Surdokaite added a career-high 10 points.

As a team, Binghamton finished with a season-low 10 turnovers but shot only 29 percent from the field (18-of-61).

"Obviously, it is not the result we were looking for today," head coach Linda Cimino said. "There are some things that we can build on and work on and we'll get back on the court tomorrow and prepare for our next game."

The Bearcats were within 37-34 with 16:19 left in regulation but Niagara took control of the game with a 16-2 run over the ensuing 8:01 of play to go up 63-36. Rampado and McGuinness combined for nine points during that stretch.

Sina's final three pointer of the day cut the deficit to 59-50 with 1:38 left in regulation. From there, however, Niagara went a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line to seal the win.

Binghamton heads to St. John's on Friday for a 2 p.m. game that will air on ESPN3.

NOTES: Surdokaite's previous career high of eight points came against Arkansas on Nov. 30, 2013 … Sina has now reached double figures in three of the Bearcats' four games this season.
