Final StatsOLEAN, N.Y. – Katie Healy finished with a game-high 22 points and Gabby Richmond added 18 points, leading St Bonaventure (4-2) to a 72-54 win over Binghamton (1-5) in a non-conference women's basketball game on Sunday afternoon at the Reilly Center. The game marked the Bearcats' third game in five days.
The Bonnies shot an even 50 percent for the game, connecting on 27 of 54 field goal attempts. Forty-two of their points came in the paint and 24 of them came of off turnovers.
Junior guard
Kim Albrecht finished with a team-high 16 points for Bearcats. Senior forward
Sherae Swinson, meanwhile, added 12 points, nine rebounds, four assists and blocked three shots. For the game, the Bearcats shot 41 percent (20-of-49).
Binghamton played the Bonnies event for most of the first half. A three pointer by freshman point guard
Jasmine Sina gave the Bearcats a 17-16 lead with 8:25 left in the first half. She later tied the game at 20-20 with another three-point field goal at the 6:59 mark.
From there, however, the Bonnies went on a 15-4 run to go up 35-24 at the break. Healy punctuated the run on a layup at the buzzer.
Healy had four more of her points during a 10-2 run in the opening 3:12 on the second half, extending the lead to 43-26.
Albrecht scored five of her points during a 7-0 Bearcat run, trimming the deficit to 56-44 with 9:41 left in regulation. St. Bonaventure, however, scored the next eight points to go up 64-44 with 6:57 left to go.
Hannah Little finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Bonnies.
Binghamton travels to NJIT for a noon game next Saturday.
NOTES: Albrecht also finished with six rebounds and tied a career high with four assists.
