BUFFALO, N.Y. --  Host Canisius (4-3) shot 51 percent from the field and placed four players in double figures in a 91-75 win over Binghamton (1-8) in a non-conference women's basketball game on Thursday night at the Koessler Center. The game marked the second of three Bearcat road games in four days.

The Golden Griffs sank 32 of their 63 field goal attempts (50.8 percent) and were 7-of-13 from beyond the three-point arc. Tiahana Mills led Canisius with 16 points while Jasmine Mungo and Emily Weber each added 14 points and Kayla Hoohuli chipped in 12 points.

The loss overshadowed career nights for the freshman duo of guards Jasmine Sina and Imani Watkins. Sina poured in a career-high and game-high 24 points while Watkins also established her career high with 22 points. Both players have now reached the 20-point mark twice this season.

The 71 points represents the highest total by Binghamton since they also scored that total against Xavier back on Nov. 22. The Bearcats have now reached the 70-point mark in scoring three times this season.

It was Canisius, however, that broke open the game early with a 16-3 run in the opening 4:03. Mungo led a balanced attack with four points during that stretch.
From there, the Bearcats settled down and played Canisius even for the rest of the first half. They trailed 45-29 at the break.

After scoring just six of her points in the opening 20 minutes, Sina came alive in the second half. She drained a three pointer to pull the Bearcats to within 68-58 with 8:47 left to go.

The Golden Griffs responded with an 11-2 run over the next 4:30 to go up 79-60 with 4:17 remaining.

Senior forward Sherae Swinson added 18 points and six rebounds for the Bearcats. Sina and Watkins also dished out five assists apiece.
Binghamton travels to Princeton on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game.

NOTES: Sina's previous career high was 20 points against St. John's on Nov. 28. Watkins, meanwhile, netted 21 points against Delaware State on Nov. 15.
