Albany, N.Y.—Binghamton (7-7, 4-1 AE) fell on the road at Albany (9-5, 5-0 AE) 21-7 from John Fallon Field on Saturday night. The Bearcats, who will be the two seed in the upcoming America East tournament, received three goals from senior Michael Antinozzi in a losing effort.

On what was Albany's senior day, the Great Danes received six goals and four assists from Lyle Thompson and another six points from senior Ty Thompson as they notched their fifth straight win.
Antinozzi, who has 19 goals on the season, recorded a point in his 45th straight game. Fellow senior Matt Springer added a pair of goals for BU and broke the single season goals record at BU with 37.

The hosts got off to a quick start on Saturday evening, jumping out to a 4-0 lead. The Thompson trio combined to score three goals and four assists during the opening spurt.
Antinozzi put an end to UAlbany's quick start with his 17th goal of the season, lacing a shot into the back of the net to cut the deficit to three. The Great Danes, however, responded with a goal 26 seconds later as the quarter ended with Albany on top 5-1.

Albany continued to cushion their lead in the second quarter when Lyle Thompson netted back-to-back goals and bumped their lead to six. From there, the Great Danes scored four more unanswered to take a 11-1 advantage. Johnny Maher broke up the 7-0 run with his dodge and score from behind the cage, but the nation's top scoring team added two more goals to pull ahead 13-2 at break.

Antinozzi netted his second goal of the evening to start the second half, but Albany continued their hot play, scoring the game's next four goals. Ty Thompson netted a pair of goals during the 4-0 run, increasing his goal total to 32 on the season.

Springer scored a goal for the 26th straight game with his goal late in the third quarter for Binghamton. He would go on to score another goal on a man-up opportunity in the fourth to nab the BU single season record.

Kenny King, a freshman from Vestal, NY, made the scoring column on Saturday night with his first career goal in the fourth quarter. Maher had two points with a goal and an assist, and Planck added an assist in his first start of the season.

Despite the loss, Binghamton will still be the two seed in the upcoming America East tournament. The opening semifinals round will begin on Thursday, May 1 as the Bearcats take on third-seed UMBC at 5 p.m. from LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, N.Y.. Binghamton defeated the Retrievers 13-7 back on April 6 in Vestal.
