PRINCETON, N.J. – Thomas Sanner and Nico Hurtado each scored in the second half, leading Princeton (3-2-2) to a 2-0 win over Binghamton (2-7-0) in a non-conference men's soccer game on Saturday afternoon at Roberts Stadium. The game marked the first-ever men's soccer meeting between the two schools.
Both goals came off of throw-ins and were assisted by Cameron Porter. Sanner's goal, which was his fourth of the year, came in the 64th minute. Hurtado's goal, which came in the 80th minute, was his first of the season.
The Bearcats fired a pair of shots in the last four minutes in an attempt to get back in the game. They were unable, however, to find the back of the net.
"We created some chances in the first half but struggled at finishing today," head coach Paul Marco said. "Princeton presented us with some pretty good challenges today that we had no answers for."
Princeton finished the game with a 22-5 shot advantage.
The Bearcats head to Hofstra on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference game.
