VESTAL, N.Y.-- Binghamton wrestling (4-6, 2-1 EIWA) fell behind early, and could not catch up as they fell to Columbia (2-1, 1-0 EIWA) 19-18 at the West Gym Sunday afternoon. The loss was the Bearcats' first against an EIWA opponent this season.

David White got the Bearcats on the board with a 6-1 decision in the opening match of the day, but Columbia responded by realing off four straight wins to take a commanding 13-3 lead. The Bearcats responded swiftly, with sophomore Zack Zupan picking up a pin just over a minute into the first period to make it 13-9. Two matches later, Jack McKeever won by decision, 7-2, to pull the Bearcats to within four with just two matches left.

Unfortunatly for Binghamton, Caleb Wallace was unable to pull them any closer, as he lost in a back and forth match 8-6. That loss made the score 19-12 in favor of Columbia, and heavyweight Tyler Deuel's second-period pin could only bring the score to 19-18 at the competion of the competition.

The Bearcats return to action this Friday at the West Gym, as they face EIWA foe Drexel at 7 p.m.
