WEST POINT, N.Y. – Host Army won two of the three doubles matches and four of six singles matches to defeat Binghamton 5-2 on Friday afternoon.  The event marked the Bearcats' first action of the spring semester.
At first doubles, juniors
Shea Brodsky and
Alexis Tashiro recorded a 6-2 win over Carolyn Pitman and Eva Sung. The Black Knights, however, took the second and third matches to win the point. The clincher came when Elle Taylor and Haley O'Connor defeated sophomore
Annie DiMuro and junior
Agatha Ambrozy 7-6 (7-5) at second doubles.
Ambrozy went on to win at sixth singles 6-2, 6-1 over Bridget Guenard. Also winning for the Bearcats was junior
Sara Kohtz, who scored a 6-1, 6-3 win over Eva Sung at second singles.
Binghamton stays in West Point for two more matches during the weekend. The Bearcats face Sacred Heart next tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
