VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton volleyball team won, 3-2, over Stony Brook Saturday night. On senior night for
Megan Burgess, the Bearcats won by scores of 21-25, 25-17, 25-22, 16-25, and 15-12 in the America East match at the West Gym.

After splitting the first four games, the teams traded points for much of the fifth set. There were five ties, as the sides battled to a 10-all score. Burgess scored for a one-point edge and then
Erin Shultz and
Kristella Morina combined for a block. After a Seawolves point,
Sarah Ngo assisted on another Burgess kill, making it 13-11. The visitors followed with an error and then a point. Shultz provided the game-winner, finishing a swing down the line for a 15-12 victory.

Ngo posted 46 assists, 16 digs, and five block assists.
Gabby Alicea contributed 20 points and seven digs, while four other Bearcats scored in double figures. Burgess put up 14.5 points, Morina and Shultz each added 12.5, with Morina producing nine block assists.
Bianca Anderson generated 12 points on .533 hitting.
Kasey Muchnicki compiled 13 digs for BU. Binghamton recorded 16 blocks as a team, setting a season high.

The Seawolves won the opener, but the Bearcats rallied in the second frame. Ahead 18-16, Ngo found Alicea for consecutive kills. After a Stony Brook miscue, Ngo and Anderson teamed up for a block and a 22-16 margin. Stony Brook called timeout, but Anderson followed with a kill. After a Seawolves point, Ngo set up Alicea for a point to win the set and even the match at 1.

In the third set, BU put together its best showing of the night. It totaled 17 kills on .342 hitting, coming away with a 25-22 win and a 2-1 match advantage. Stony Brook responded with a win in the fourth, causing the decisive fifth game.

Binghamton has played 10 five-set matches in 2015, going 5-5. BU heads to UMass Lowell for the regular season finale on Sunday, November 15.Â
