Late Rally Not Enough for Wrestling in 22-16 Loss at George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va.- The Binghamton wrestling team fell, 22-16, at George Mason Friday night. Jack McKeever, Caleb Wallace, and Tyler Deuel each won for the Bearcats in the non-conference match at the Recreation Athletic Complex.

After seeing BU fall behind early, McKeever turned the tide in his 184-pound contest. The Brookfield, Connecticut, native took a 2-1 edge through two periods and then pulled away for a 6-2 decision over Ryan Hembury. With the win, McKeever, tabbed 31^st in the NCAA Coaches' Panel Rankings, moved to 18-9 this season.

Wallace kept the momentum going in the 197-pound bout. The senior came away with a 7-2 decision over Matt Meadows, putting a dent in the GMU advantage. Wallace picked up his 11^th victory of the year.

In the final match of the night, #22 Deuel dominated in a 14-0 major decision over #25 Jake Kettler. Deuel improved to 19-4 on the season.

George Mason forfeited the 125-pound contest and then won the next six matches of the dual.

Binghamton dropped to 6-9 on the season. It will compete at American University on Sunday, February 8. The non-conference bout is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
